Psychopharmacology
Dr. Zalma utilizes pharmacology in combination with many forms of psychotherapy. Medication is used with clinical expertise and experience in partnership with her patients. Genetic testing may be utilized in addition to a command of the current literature.
Psychotherapy
Dr. Zalma utilizes many forms of psychotherapy which include psychoanalytic psychotherapy, mindfulness interventions and trauma informed psychotherapies. The doctor patient relationship is at the core of all of these modalities.
Non Pharmacologic Alternative Interventions
In addition to the mainstay of outpatient psychiatric treatment which includes medication and psychotherapy Dr. Zalma utilizes Complimentary and Alternative Medicine (CAM) approaches that include mind body medicine and energy medicine.
Consultation for businesses, organizations and mental health facilities
Dr. Zalma consults to mental health organizations as well as other corporations and businesses interested in incorporating a mental health program for their employees based on the practices of The Surya Chandra Center, a 55 acres day retreat center she co-directs in Hillsboro OR
